Jo Ann Jones (Watkins), 76, also known as ‘Big Mama’ passed away on Saturday, August 19, 2017. Jo Ann was born in Indianapolis, IN on March 25, 1941, daughter of the late George Watkins and Katherine Payne (Scott). Jo Ann has lived in Racine, WI, Palo Alto, CA, and Hayward, CA, before returning to Indianapolis, IN where she was born and raised and lived life until God called her home.
Jo Ann is survived by her five children: Arnold Lee Jones Jr. (Patricia) of Virginia Beach, VA, Kathy Jones-Drye (Orlando) of Indianapolis, IN, Robyn Cork (Winford) of Indianapolis, IN, Kenneth Jones (Diane) of Carmel, IN, and Troy Posey (Maya) of San Jose, CA; 14 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson. Jo Ann is further survived by her Sister Evelyn Clark (Donald) of Racine, WI, brothers Ronnie Payne (Dannetta), Eddie Payne (Christine) of CA, uncle Robert Dale(Patricia) Scott of Indianapolis, IN, and aunt Sally Ann Jackson of. Jo Ann is preceded in death by her Husband Arnold Lee Jones Sr., her father, George Watkins, her mother, Katherine Ellen Payne, two grandsons, and one great-grandson.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Indiana Funeral Care and Crematory.
